Lacquer from Saigon’s golden ateliers
An upper-floor suite furnished entirely with pieces from Ateliers Thanh Lê, the most celebrated of Saigon’s mid-century lacquer workshops, which in the 1960s carried ancient lacquer techniques into new forms.
Paintings and stained glass by Nguyễn Niên of Biên Hòa, and doors hand-painted in homage to Mai Thứ and Lê Phổ, masters of Vietnamese modernism.
